RECOLLECTIONS
I WAS A PIRATE, YOU WERE A QUEEN
TIS TRUE MY LOVE, IT WASN'T A DREAM
WE LIVED AND LOVED, IN MEADOWS OF GREEN
A ROMANCE OF FIRE, FLAMES HOT BUT UNSEEN
I WAS IN REFUGE, AS YOU WERE TOO
FROM LOVERS AND FRIENDS, WHO'D PROVEN UNTRUE
YOU WERE UNCERTAIN AND WARY OF MY CHARM
DIDN'T REALLY KNOW ME, FEARED GETTING HARMED
WE DANCED AND WE SANG BY THE SUN AND THE MOON
UNTIL WE WERE ONE, IN RHYME AND IN TUNE
IN GREEN FOREST GLADES, OUR LIPS WOULD SPARK
MAKING SWEET LOVE, TILL LONG AFTER DARK
YOU GAVE UP YOUR KINGDOM, I, MY OUTLAW LIFE
TO LIVE IN THE SUNSET, AWAY FROM THE STRIFE
HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS TALE TO BE TRUE
YOUR NAME WAS BURGUNDY, I WAS CALLED BLUE
FORGIVENESS
THEY HAD GONE WALKING
TOGETHER AFTER THE FIGHT
THE BAKERY WAS OPEN
THE ONLY WARM LIGHT
SHE WANTED FRESH PASTRY
TO COMFORT HER SOUL
HE STAYED OUTSIDE
NOT FEELING QUITE WHOLE
WHEN THEY GOT HOME
THEY PASSIONATELY MADE LOVE
MELTING INTO EACH OTHERS ARMS
THEY FIT JUST LIKE A GLOVE
DANCE WITH ME
THEY TANGO ON THE SQUARE
THEY MAKE A DASHING PAIR
THEY TANGO ON THE STREET
THEY ARE ARTISTS WITH THEIR FEET
DREAMWEAVER
LAY WITH ME
BESIDE THE SEA
IN A CANDLE LIT BED
OUR DREAMS WE WILL WED
ANGELS
I HAVE A GUARDIAN ANGEL, I SWEAR IT IS TRUE
WHEN PARKING PLACES ARE FAR AND FEW
I ALMOST ALWAYS GET THE CLOSET SPOT
COURTESY OF MY ANGEL OF THE PARKING LOT
GENEALOGY
I'D CLIMB UP TO MY GRANDPARENTS ATTIC
TO FIND TREASURES AMONG THE MEMORIES
ODDS AND ENDS THAT SPOKE TO ME
OF TIMES UNKNOWN AND PAST
I'D READ THEIR LETTERS AND WEAR THEIR HATS
TRANSPORTED TO ANOTHER AGE
LOOKING FOR MEANING IN THE CEDAR CHESTS
AND THE FADED PHOTOGRAPHS
PERCEPTION
AND NOW...
PAUSE TO CONSIDER
THINGS LEFT UNSAID
EMOTIONS
STREWN CARELESSLY
IN BETWEEN THE WORDS
ACTIONS
SOWN SILENTLY
IN BETWEEN THE DREAMS
NIGHTS WITH YOU
for Donna
IN THE MOONLIGHT
WHEN NIGHT CHILLS CREEP
I COME TO YOU
FOR WARMTH AND SLEEP
LIKE A CAMPFIRE
ON AN AUTUMN LAKE
COLD AND LONELINESS
FROM ME YOU TAKE
LOVE IS NOT PERFECT
SO WISEMEN SAY
NEITHER ADAM OR EVE
OR A SHAKESPEAREAN PLAY
YET, WHEN I HOLD YOU CLOSE
THROUGH THE NIGHT
I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK
THAT OUR LOVE MIGHT
GYPSY WOMAN
SHE PLAYS THE WORDS OF LONGING
SHE DREAMS THE SONGS OF LEGEND
SHE SPEAKS THE COLORS OF LOVE
SHE WALKS THE PATHS IN TUNE
SHE TOUCHES THE STARS IN TURN
SHE LEAVES THE MELODIES IN TIME
GYPSY WOMAN PART TWO
THE GYPSIES CAMPED AT THE EDGE OF TOWN
MUSIC AND MAGIC WERE THEIR WARES
THE GYPSY QUEEN IN AN ELEGANT GOWN
TOLD FORTUNES AT THE COUNTY FAIRS
ODE TO SONNETS
SOLITUDE HATH HONOUR
SO SAYETH THE MUSE
OFT THE ANSWER
LIES WITH LOVE LOST
SEEKING THY REFUGE
FROM THE LADY FAIRE
IN THE DEPTHS OF QUEENS WOOD
THE PARTY’S OVER
HIS REMAINING HOPES
LIE SCATTERED OVER HER FRONT LAWN
LIKE BEER CANS AFTER A SUMMER PARTY
GLINTING WITH PROMISE
EMPTY OF SUBSTANCE
CRUNCHED
A SLOW-WINGED MOTH
CAUGHT BY THE CAT
WONDROUS
I HEARD MY CHILD LAUGHING
INSIDE THE BARN ON A SUMMERS DAY
I SILENTLY SNUCK UP BEHIND HIM
TO REMEMBER A CHILD AT PLAY
A CAT WAS STALKING A BUTTERFLY
WHO WOULD ALIGHT THEN DART AWAY
THROUGH MY CHILDS EYES IT WAS MAGIC
A BEAUTIFUL AND NATURAL BALLET
